Laker Vent brings the Vivergo fuels plant back into production

Laker Vent Engineering Limited are proud to have been involved in such a high-profile project to bring the Vivergo Fuels plant back into production.

Our role as Principal Contractor and Mechanical & Piping Contractor aided the Vivergo management & project team achieve its tight timescales.

Vivergo takes low-grade wheat as a feedstock which wouldn’t be suitable for human consumption. A by-product of the process is animal feed, which further supports regional agriculture.

Campaigners see it as a vital element of the transition from fossil fuels to electric, with combustion engines likely to stay on the roads well beyond the end of new sales in 2030.

The Challenge to be completed in 6 months :

Total metres: 2090 metres

Stainless steel Pipe diameter: 40 metres DN1200 , 65 metres DN900, 95 metres DN750 60 metres DN400, 350 metres DN350

Total weld inches: 18,015 – Number of welds 3,024

Average Weld diameter: 6 inches

Total tonnage of steelwork: Approx. 95 tonnes

No of mechanical plant items to be installed:  8 vessels @ 7 tonne 2 vessels @ 27 tonne 2 vessels @ 35 tonne 2 vessels @ 51 tonne 24 pumps 462 valve and instruments
